Dr. Arastu is the founder and director of Live Oak Allergy & Asthma Clinic. She has served the San Antonio community for over 25 years, providing care for adults and children with allergic conditions, asthma, and immune disorders. Originally from India, she attended Osmania Medical School in Hyderabad and then completed her pediatric internship in Ontario and her pediatric residency in Omaha. She then entered the U.S. Air Force, where she eventually served her country for 20 years, both on active duty and in the Air Force Reserve, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

She also received specialized training in aerospace medicine and served as a flight surgeon. She completed her fellowship training in allergy/immunology at the prestigious Wilford Hall Department of Allergy and Immunology here in San Antonio. This training program is widely recognized as one of the best in the world and has produced scores of practicing allergists in the United States.

In addition to a busy clinical practice, Dr. Arastu performs important clinical research and serves the community through asthma outreach programs.  She cares for both adults and children with a wide range of allergic and immunologic conditions, including asthma, allergic rhinitis (hayfever), chronic sinusitis, eczema, drug allergy, food allergy, insect allergy, contact dermatitis, urticaria and angioedema (hives and swelling),
and primary immunodeficiency diseases.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and travelling abroad.  She is an accomplished athlete and enjoys yoga and downhill skiing.  Dr. Arastu is a board-certified allergist/immunologist and pediatrician.
